New bus stop, board hearing, awards announced

RiverCities Transit announced a new bus stop at 12th Ave and Maple for Routes 30 and 33, effective June 19, 2026. The stop features an ADA-compliant curb cut ramp and provides closer access to CAP. The previous stop at 12th and Broadway will now serve Route 32.

The transit agency also announced a public hearing on August 12, 2026, at 3:45 p.m. to review the composition of the Cowlitz Transit Authority board. The hearing will be held at Longview City Hall Council Chamber and via Zoom. Written comments may be submitted by August 10, 2026.

Additionally, RiverCities Transit recognized Jerry Robeson and Cheryl Grindle-Spain as 2026 WA DOT Wall of Fame honorees for their exceptional service. Robeson received the most peer nominations in company history, while Grindle-Spain was praised for creating a positive work environment.
