πŸ”Š Listen Β· narrated by Aiden

Cowlitz 2 Fire & Rescue held its annual 9/11 remembrance ceremony on Friday, Sept. 11, 2026, in Kelso, marking the 25th anniversary of the attacks.

Firefighters rang a bell five times to honor the 343 firefighters who died on Sept. 11, 2001, as well as those who later died from illnesses related to toxin exposure. An honor guard raised an American flag to half-staff during the event, which was documented by The Daily News.

The ceremony is part of ongoing efforts by Cowlitz County agencies to honor the victims and reflect on improved emergency response protocols developed since the attacks.
